Job Description

Fulcrum Consulting, an LRS company, is seeking a Product Owner with our client in Minneapolis, MN.

Our client is seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our Cash Management team and lead product initiatives focused on money movement and payment capabilities. This role will be responsible for translating business needs into product requirements, partnering closely with technology and business stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery of solutions across critical cash movement processes.


The ideal candidate is a seasoned financial services product professional who can speak comfortably with both business and technology teams and understands not just what ACH, wires, debit, and bill pay are, but how the underlying processes and systems actually work. Someone who has spent time in a brokerage or wealth management environment and has helped implement or manage banking and money movement capabilities will be particularly well suited for this role.  C

Candidates with experience at a brokerage or wealth management firm, particularly those who have implemented or managed banking/payment capabilities from the brokerage side, are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the product roadmap for cash management and money movement capabilities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, technology teams, operations, risk, compliance, and other cross-functional partners to define product strategy and priorities.
  • Translate business requirements and customer needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable requirements for technology teams.
  • Lead initiatives involving ACH, wire transfers, debit transactions, bill pay, and other cash movement capabilities.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the end-to-end money movement process, including the systems, integrations, workflows, controls, and operational processes involved.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience, operational efficiency, scalability, and risk management of cash management products.
  • Prioritize the product backlog and ensure development teams have clear direction and requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to understand technical dependencies and ensure solutions align with broader banking and brokerage platforms.
  • Coordinate testing, implementation, and rollout of new capabilities and enhancements.
  • Monitor product performance and use business and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert and key point of contact for cash management and money movement capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Product Owner, Product Manager, or closely related experience within financial services or a similarly complex environment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with money movement and payment products, including:
    • ACH
    • Wire transfers
    • Debit transactions
    • Bill pay
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end processes and systems supporting money movement.
  • Experience working with complex financial services platforms, integrations, and banking/payment systems.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into clear product requirements and effectively partner with technology teams.
  • Strong understanding of product development methodologies, backlog management, user stories, prioritization, and Agile delivery.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for a brokerage, wealth management, or investment services firm.
  • Experience implementing or managing banking capabilities from the brokerage side of the business.
  • Understanding of the intersection between brokerage platforms and traditional banking/payment infrastructure.
  • Experience working with multiple internal and external systems involved in transaction processing and money movement.
  • Familiarity with financial services risk, compliance, operational controls, and regulatory considerations related to payments.

This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of approximately 4 days per week in the office and 1 day per week remote.

The base hourly range for this contract position is $70-$100 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
