Job Description
Fulcrum Consulting, an LRS company, is seeking a Senior Project Manager / Scrum Master with our client in Minneapolis, MN.
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager / Scrum Master to lead the upgrade of a legacy workflow application. This role requires a hands-on, technically strong leader with a software development background who can drive Agile delivery while navigating the complexities of modernizing an existing system. The ideal candidate will be comfortable rolling up their sleeves, managing risks and escalations, and collaborating across technical and business teams—preferably within a financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of a legacy application upgrade, ensuring alignment with business and technical goals
- Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, facilitating ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.)
- Partner closely with engineering, product, and stakeholders to define scope, priorities, and deliverables
- Drive Agile best practices and ensure effective use of tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Act as a hands-on leader, removing blockers, supporting team execution, and stepping in where needed
- Identify, track, and actively manage risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate as appropriate
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, including status reporting and roadmap updates
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery through strong planning, execution, and team accountability
- Support change management and adoption efforts associated with the upgraded workflow system
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager and/or Scrum Master in software development environments
- Strong technical background with prior hands-on experience in software development or engineering
- Proven experience leading Agile/Scrum teams, including deep familiarity with Jira and Confluence
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving legacy system upgrades or transformations
- Strong risk, issue, and escalation management skills
- Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment and take a proactive, hands-on approach
The base range for this contract position is $60-$90 per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors.
