Job Description
Fulcrum Consulting, an LRS company, is seeking a Software Application Specialist with our client in Minneapolis, MN.
Our client is looking to bring on an experienced Software Application Specialist.
About the Role:
As a Software Application Specialist – partner across IT and with assigned business line(s) to assess, research, and analyze business, technical and system needs to resolve business systems issues by facilitating technology solutions build that meet sponsor/stakeholder needs.
What will you do?
- Provide consulting services on new and strategic initiatives (medium to large of varying complexity)
- Research emerging trends/best practices and determines implications of proposed solutions on meeting business unit strategy
- Develop feasibility studies and proposals for senior management and executive decisions on large complex projects
- Together with Project Manager, and Solutions Architect determines best mix of development, interfacing applications, third party vendor solutions to meet business requirements and project objectives
- Responsible for all aspects of joint project support and assists with vendor negotiations
- Provide input and coordinates with DBA in creating new and modifying existing database structures using different types of databases and recommending appropriate DB based on required functionality across multiple systems
- Develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for the design, build, implements and stabilizes phases of the project and manages detailed design phases for large projects/ programs identifying, tracking and resolving technical issues and ensuring solution meets sponsor needs and PLC deliverables
- Provide direction, expertise, feedback, coaching to build the capability of more junior staff
- Spearhead and assists in joint technical design sessions (internally and with SaaS vendor) via technical iteration of design, development, documentation, testing and deployment
Must-have
- Professional with experience on multiple projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd parties
- 5+ years of experience with MS SQL
- Knowledge of different programming languages (e.g. SQL, .NET, C++, HTML, Cobol, JCL)
o Emphasis on strong SQL skills
- Strong grasp of complex data structures (nested data structures) and capacity to drive data-driven architecture
- Experience with managing SaaS software solutions and driving continuous improvement with vendor solutions
- Knowledge of developing, designing, and consuming RESTFUL services
Nice-to-have
- Experience working with MDM tools & implementations (e.g. Informatica)
- Experience with building a GitHub repository and compile/run GitHub projects
Multiple platforms e.g. MVS, Internet, Client/Server and ability to select appropriate one to meet business needs
The base range for this contract position is $60-$90 per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors.
