Fulcrum Consulting, an LRS company, is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Business side with our client in Minneapolis, MN.
Our client is seeking a Business Project Manager to lead the establishment of a Vendor Management Office (VMO) within our Wealth Management organization. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing a centralized framework to improve vendor governance, risk management, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in wealth management, along with a proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives. This individual must be highly effective at coordination and collaboration, with the ability to influence without direct authority and align diverse stakeholder groups around common goals.
A key component of this role is the ability to quickly establish credibility and operate confidently in front of senior leadership. The Project Manager will regularly engage with and present to C-suite stakeholders, requiring strong executive presence, clear communication, and sound judgment.
This role is well-suited for a proactive, results-driven professional who is comfortable navigating ambiguity, building structure from the ground up, and driving meaningful organizational change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and implementation of a centralized Vendor Management Office (VMO) within the Wealth Management business
- Define and execute the VMO operating model, including governance, policies, and procedures
- Drive cross-functional coordination across business, technology, legal, compliance, and procurement teams
- Establish and standardize vendor selection, onboarding, performance management, and risk oversight processes
- Build strong relationships and quickly establish credibility with senior stakeholders, including C-suite leadership
- Develop and deliver clear, concise executive-level communications and presentations
- Identify risks, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of key milestones
- Promote a collaborative, transparent, and solutions-oriented approach across all stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of project or program management experience, preferably within wealth management or financial services
- Direct experience in wealth management is required
- Experience building or enhancing vendor management or third-party risk programs strongly preferred
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging senior executives
- Strong organizational, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to drive results in complex, matrixed environments
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., PMP) a plus
The base hourly range for this contract position is $70-$100 per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors.
