Fulcrum Consulting, an LRS company, is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer with our client in Minneapolis, MN.
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Developer with deep expertise in ServiceNow CMDB and Service Mapping to support the strategic enhancement of their IT operations platform. This role is focused on leading Service Mapping initiatives to increase visibility into infrastructure, enhance service impact analysis, and improve CMDB health and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, is highly collaborative, and has a proven track record in managing large-scale discovery and service mapping in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and execution of Service Mapping initiatives using ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping modules.
• Architect and maintain accurate service maps for critical business services, infrastructure, and application components.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with application owners, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to define and validate service boundaries and dependencies.
• Configure and manage MID Servers across various environments including on-premises and multiple cloud platforms.
• Develop and optimize Discovery Patterns to improve automation, data accuracy, and mapping efficiency through custom scripting and advanced configuration.
• Troubleshoot mapping errors, validate MID Server connectivity, and ensure end-to-end data integrity within the CMDB.
• Leverage traffic-based discovery methods such as machine learning connection suggestions and cloud-native tagging to enhance map accuracy.
• Manage roles and permissions related to Service Mapping (e.g., sm_admin, sm_user, sm_app_owner) to ensure secure and effective platform usage.
• Document and maintain standards for Service Mapping, including process documentation, best practices, and user training materials.

  Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of overall IT experience, with at least:o 3+ years working with ServiceNow CMDBo 1+ year hands-on experience specifically with Service Mapping
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (networking, servers, cloud services) and their interdependencies.
• Experience deploying and managing MID Servers across hybrid environments.
• Demonstrated expertise with Discovery Patterns, scripting (e.g., JavaScript), and platform automation.
• Deep knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB best practices, governance, and data modeling.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work with a high-performing team focused on operational excellence through ITSM innovation.

The base range for this contract position is $70.00 - $100.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
