Senior IBM iSeries Engineer
The Senior IBM iSeries Engineer plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the IBM iSeries (AS/400) infrastructure to support our expansive health services operations. You will engineer robust solutions that contribute to the efficacy and security of our healthcare delivery systems. Your role involves supporting a myriad of technology initiatives, integrating seamlessly into an agile and fast-paced environment, and communicating effectively with both clients and colleagues.

Qualifications
• Strong experience with IBM iSeries system administration, including OS upgrades, patch management, and performance tuning.
• Deep knowledge of IBM iSeries application development – specifically in ILE RPG, RPG Free Format, CLLE, and SQL RPGLE.
• Familiarity with modern iSeries development tools and methodologies, including RDi, Git, and DevOps principles.
• Expertise in implementing and managing High Availability solutions like MIMIX or iTera.
• Solid foundation in network and system security protocols and standards.
• Decent understanding of DB2/SQL on IBM i, data modeling, and database security/integrity.
• Experience with high availability (HA) monitoring, disaster recovery planning, and system backups, particularly using IBM BRMS.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2 Type II and participate actively in Information Security teams.
Desired Certifications
• IBM Certified System Administrator - IBM i
• IBM Certified Application Developer - ILE RPG
Technical Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and manage iSeries system architecture to ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities and that meet evolving business requirements.
• Conduct regular system audits to ensure performance optimization and compliance with the latest security protocols.
• Lead complex system upgrades and migration projects, ensuring minimal downtime and business continuity.
• Develop and maintain advanced iSeries applications, ensuring alignment with business processes and requirements.
• Utilize modern development tools and practices to maintain a state-of-the-art iSeries environment.
• Implement and manage effective data backup and recovery strategies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of the iSeries systems with other corporate IT infrastructure.
• Establish and refine iSeries system monitoring protocols to proactively address potential issues.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Provide technical leadership on projects, clearly articulating tasks and project plans.
• Maintain and apply security controls, participate in compliance updates, and adhere to ITSM processes.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, offering system training and support to clients and internal users.
• Document changes and maintain standards in line with organizational policy and change management procedures.
